The rise of typepads and keyboards is rewriting school curricula, raising questions about the value of old-fashioned penmanship and fueling debates that divide parents and teachers. Some kids now sign their names in block letters. What does it mean that many kids are not being taught  penmanship these days?  Signing one's name, one's signature… being able to pen a note… Is this a fundamental skill that should still be part of a class curriculum? As one woman interviewed in the article said,"Frankly, computer written notes to Grandma aren't gong to go over well in my household."
