Bayer’s $2 billion Roundup damages boost pressure to settle

“The company has got to come to the table with a viable plan to resolve these cases, or the losses are going to mount. This outcome should make Monsanto realize the seriousness of these claims and how a jury perceives the evidence.”

That’s what lawyer Micah Dortch, who has been involved in multiple lawsuits against Monsanto, had to say.

And this was the reaction from Ken Cook, President of the Environmental Working Group, following the awarding of $2 billion in damages to a California couple:

“The cloud hanging over Bayer will only grow bigger and darker, as more juries hear how Monsanto manipulated its own research, colluded with regulators and intimidated scientists to keep secret the cancer risks from glyphosate.”
