A federal advisory panel to the FDA wants to change the dosing recommendations for children taking Tylenol acetaminophen products, based on a serious concern that taking more than the recommended dose of acetaminophen can potentially lead to liver failure. The panel says the dosage should be based primarily on the child's weight rather than their age. This is all part of the FDA's continuing effort to insure the safety of acetaminophen.
