Tying Health Problems to Rise in Home Foreclosures

New research by economists Janet Currie of Princeton University and Erdal Tekin of Georgia State University, along with personal stories of people faced with foreclosures, links the housing crisis to more hospital visits for hypertension, anxiety, and suicide attempts.  Currie is quoted as saying, "You see foreclosures having a general effect on the neighborhood.  Everybody is stressed out.  There is a connection between people's economic well-being and their physical well-being."  Of course, that's the whole reason we have a dedicated Financial & Workplace Well-Being category at The Good for You Network, because those things DO affect your health and general well-being!
